Friends of the Library
The Friends of the Library had a great 2017. Your support funded all of the library programs for children and teens throughout the year (some with an adult appeal as well). There were specific events as well as on-going weekly activities for various age groups.
The Summer Reading Program keeps youth engaged during the summer months and all the major holidays are recognized as special events.
A variety of learning opportunities were offered that combined cultural, scientific, creativity and /or social elements. Two examples of historical programs that we helped fund this past year are the Native American Program and the Ben Franklin- Man of Science Program. We also purchased more than 550 books and DVDs for children and teens and we purchased 30% of the large print collection for adults.
This year the Children’s Library will undergo a major renovation and The Friends of the Library will play a major part in funding this wonderful project. This is possible through the generosity of contributions by people just like you.
“Shout for libraries. Shout for the young readers who use them.”
